Mueller Water was founded in 1969 by Warren Mueller, a man whose life was defined by service, innovation, and dedication. Warren's journey began in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he graduated from Western Hills High School in 1944 amidst World War II. Shortly after, he joined the Army, quickly rising to the rank of Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, he returned home and met the love of his life, Geraldine Cole. The two were married in January 1947 and built a life together, even as Warren continued to serve his country in the Army Ready Reserve during the Korean War.

Warren’s professional career began at Fairbanks, Morse & Co., where he worked as a Field Engineer, specializing in pumps and general Dealer Line products. His work eventually brought him and his family to Houston, Texas, in 1966, where he took on a new challenge with a pipe extrusion company. After a series of jobs, including one with Continental Water, Warren and Geraldine started Mueller Water, Inc. from their garage in 1969. What began as a modest operation has since grown into a successful commercial and industrial water treatment business with multiple locations serving the entire state of Texas.

Warren's passion for his work never waned. Even at 87, he remained actively involved in the company he loved, considering his employees as part of his extended family. Beyond work, Warren and Geraldine were avid square dancers, belonging to the Hey Lolly Square Dance Group for years. Warren also enjoyed tinkering in his garage and spent his later years restoring his cherished Model A.

Mueller Water’s legacy is not just a story of business success but also a testament to the values Warren instilled in the company—integrity, hard work, and a commitment to excellence. His son, David Mueller, worked alongside him to expand and grow the company, and today, the third generation—David’s three sons—continue to uphold these values, leading the company forward.
